Light of Alariya marks several ambitious “firsts.” It is SMU Guildhall’s first open-world game as well as our first game built in Unreal Engine 5.Īll the team members made significant contributions to puzzle design, open-world design, art design, or system structures. Light of Alariya was developed from May to December 2022, by a team of 27 master's students from SMU Guildhall, along with 26 musicians and voice talent from SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts over a 6-month production.

Riftbound starts out like Plants vs Zombies, but then adds so much more. First release from this studio, and a really good game. One archer, who takes single-target talents from the combat tree, and picks off/immobilizes/knocks back annoying or high-value enemies. With good positioning, and maybe help from a summon, he lets enemies cluster around him and then damages or debuffs them en masse. One melee tank, who takes defensive equipment and specializes "All nearby enemies" talents like Whirlwind and Terrifying Scream.
